Jaffrey Library Trustees - Minutes of Meeting - November 14, 2012
Stephanie Minteer called the meeting to order at 5:05 pm. Also present were Dick Porter, Steve Van Houten, Joan Knight, Mary Heafy, Nancy Clapp, Karl Putnam and Tammy Cummings.
The minutes of the September 19, 2012 were approved as written.
Treasurer’s Report
The treasurer’s report covering the period September 19, 2012 through November 14, 2012 was distributed. The current balance is $3,602.81. The report was accepted.
At our previous meeting, Charter Trust suggested that we consider putting $25,000 in a group of three high yield bond funds. After discussion it was voted to notify Charter Trust of our approval of the suggestion.
Director’s Report
Joan distributed a copy of her proposed budget for the next fiscal year covering those items under control of the Trustees. (The balance of the Library budget covering salaries, benefits etc. is prepared by the town.) Our portion of the recommended budget shows an increase of approximately 2%. The trustees voted approval of the proposed budget.
The trustees were reminded of the dates for the following events:
Friends of the Library Tea: December 5 @ 2 pm
Gingerbread Houses: December 125 @ 10:30 am
Currier and Ives Cookie Tour: December 8 @ 11 am to 4 pm
Joan reported that the new stainless steel book drop at the front of the library is now expected to arrive in the next two weeks.
New Business
The Trustees reviewed and revised the Investment Policy of 10/29/2004. The President will incorporate the changes and present the revised version at our meeting in December.
Next Meeting
The next regular meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at 4:30 pm. The meeting was adjourned at 6:05 pm.
